I am running windows 7 64 bit and Mobius VST is crashing both Usine and Live7.
Usine crashes when I reload the workspace (admittedly, I haven't tried too many variations of other ways to make it crash)
The crash is an error telling me the program has stopped working, then when I exit the error message, I get a blue screen with a system service exception error.
Live crashes when I quit the program (same as above, admittedly, I haven't tried too many variations of other ways to make it crash)
An error box comes up that says:
Debug Assertion Failed!
Program...
File: dbgdel.cpp
Line:52
Expression:_BLOCK_TYPE_IS_INVALID9pHead->nBlockUse
For More information on how your program can cause an assertion failure,
see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.
If I press cancel, my computer blue screens with the System Service Exception Error.
If I press debug, It exits the program without further crashing.
Anyone Else?
What's odd about this is the blue screen. Most of the time blue screens are caused by device drivers, not directly by applications.
Had you been using your audio and MIDI devices succesfully on
Windows 7 64bit before Mobius?
Do you have Mobius opening any MIDI devices? (Check the
selectors on the right side of the Configuration->MIDI Devices window).
If you do try deselecting them.
We've seen crashes before if both the Host and Mobius were opening
the same MIDI devices.

Well, we seem to be getting somewhere...
I have to launch the standalone version once and exit it, then it crashes during exit.
After that, the neither the standalone or the VST crash anu more...
Here's the crash info from the standalone:

That's very strange, applications generally don't "fix themselves" by crashing once. The fact that this happens in standalone mode is good, it narrows
it down a bit.
If you reboot does it crash again the first time, then fix itself?
Did you do any looping or just launch it, exit, then crash?
What audio and MIDI devices do you have selected?
Did you do any complex configuration (plugin parameter export, MIDI bindings etc.)? If so I may need to see your mobius.xml file.
Out of curiosity has anyone run Mobius under Windows 7 before?

Hi Jeff.
If I use the uninstaller to remove Mobius completely, then reinstall it, launch the standalone .exe and promptly exit the program,it crashes that once and then is fine thereafter for both the standalone and the vst version.
default,default,default everything!
Midi devicers installed on my computer are Novation Automap, LoopBE30 and Motu Midi ExpressXT.
Also, in answer to the previous qustion, yes I have successfully been using other audio software, vst's and midi devices without any major problems on this computer for about a month now. (the usual quirks :)
Hmm, strange. AutoMap and LoopBE30 are relatively unusual in a Mobius environment. I recently got AutoMap along with the Launchpad so that's probably not it.
I don't see why the presence of LoopBE30 would cause a crash, though
if you have it configured for 30 MIDI ports that's more than we usually see,
it might be causing an overflow somewhere.
I'll download LoopBE30 and see if that could be causing it, but until I get
a Windows 7 machine there isn't much more I can do.

I had similar crash with usine with an old mobius version . But I don't remember if it was on my Xp or my vista computer, or on both. Work fine on XP with the last mobius version ( my usine version is v4.22d) . I will test asap on vista and let you know.
