Just upgraded to Mainstage 2.1. It appears that Mobius does no longer respond to midi CC messages. The same concert file still runs fine on MS 2.01. Bidule also works fine. I have to investigate this further, might be a midi implmentation change in MS?
Per,
Have you tested Mobius on MS 2.1 already?

Hi Sjaak,
Yes I have Mainistage 2.1 but I have not noticed anything because I now use MIDI direct input into Mobius. You set that up by selecting a MIDI port for "Plugin INput" under "Devices".
But right now I'm focusing on the Loopback plugin of Mainstage's because I'm preparing for a doing regular gigs with a five/six piece band. There won't be room for the extra bells and whistles of Mobius in this band, so Loopback is perfect to set the tempo of Mobius and play mostly non-looping parts feeding beat synced effects.

Hi Per,
Thanks. I used the direct plugin input method when I used Mobius as an insert FX on an aux channel. I now use Mobius on a concert instrument channel (as you've documented on your website). As you know, you then don't need to setup direct midi input in Mobius since MS is already sending midi messages by default to an instrument if you have a MS keyboard with the right midi input port + channel connected to the instrument channel (which is the case).
Anyway, I have to do some more testing before I jump to conclusions. Using direct input might be a workaround for the time beeing :)
Jeff: you don't have to spent any time on this. This thread is just a placeholder, I'll keep you all posted.

Looks like a MS 2.1 bug. I can reproduce it:
- activate Mobius <Configuration><Midi control>
- select a Mobius function and activate midi capture
- send CC messages on channel 5 from your controller but not on channel 1
- Mainstage receives data on channel 5 (see MS window bar)
- Mobius receives the midi data on channel 1,always
Strange. Anyone noticed this?

Btw: workaround is indeed to active the direct midi input

Fixed! My MS channel input settings appeared to be wrong. If you want to use any other channel than 1 as midi input channel for Mobius when used as an AU instrument, use "Multitimbral" as keyboard and active the midi channel(s) you want to use. This also means MS is automatically redirecting midi channels 2-16 to 1 when you don't use "Multitimbral". Did't know that, might be unintended functionality ;-)
