I am wondering if Mobius VST can record a loop and then follow realtime tempo changes from the host to play the loop at different speeds while synced to the host?
Also, is it possible to midi control recording and playback of all 8 tracks at once?
I have investigated a bit on my own, but these things aren't obvious to me. I cannot find a way to get the sync for tempo changes and only the infocus track seems able to record by midi, so I would just like to know for sure before I invest too much more time digging in deep. (btw, my host is Sensomusic Usine)
Thanks!

No is the most accurate answer to that question. You could of course use the Pitch Shift function to change loop lengths, but that algorithm causes a lot of audio noise and CPU drain.

Yes.

I cannot find a way to get the sync for tempo changeWhen you change tempo, make new loops! BTW, another way of using Mobius (that I find more fun over here) is to sync the host application. Then you simply record the first loop and your host will follow your played tempo. No "click track blues" in this scenario :-)

Per is right that Mobius won't track tempo changes after you record a loop
and do "time stretch" which is probably what you want.

You can record all 8 tracks at once using either "focus lock" or a
script that replicates the Record command for all 8 tracks. There are several
options here, if you describe more about what you want to accomplish we can give you more something more concrete.

Thanks, but if Mobius cannot time stretch then it won't work for what I am trying to do ATM.
Regardless, it's a handy little tool that I'll keep around for future endevours :)

You can sort of get time stretch by combining Rate Shift (change pitch and speed) with a corresponding Pitch Shift to bring the pitch back to where it
was originally. But it's hard to get accurate and there will probably be
audible artifacts you don't like.

Ableton Live is about as good as it gets for real-time software time stretch,
you might check that out.
