Hi. My name's James. I'm from Seattle, but now living in Paris. I'm new to Mobius and I'm very impressed. I don't know what took me so long to find it, but i'm stoked. I've been making loop-based music since 2000. I released my first "loop" album in 2002(made it on a Mac 7200). I released 3 albums total under the solo artist name plan b.

i'm constantly experimenting and trying to find a live application of the looping I have made in the studio. I have used reason, ableton live, pro tools, I am interested in making live looping as compelling as a live group. the energy, the risk, the imperfection all coming together in just the right way. I toured the u.s. and europe with a laptop and live musicians between 2002 - 2007. From experience I am against pre-made sequences as a means to making a compelling live performance. It's analogous to having a cooking show and showing up with tv dinners and a microwave. Don't underestimate your audience. It's not just about sound, but also about watching the "moment of creation." I have tried several different looping pedals to perform with and i've currently settled on the electro-harmonix 2880. That pedal, by far, offers the most in a loop pedal, but unfortunately it's a little expensive. clearly though Mobius offers more. I was trying to eliminate my laptop from my stage performances, but mobius might be enough to bring it back.

just to be clear. I am not a singer song write with a guitar, my voice and a looper. I am originally a drummer. I also play guitar, bass and keyboards. I love hip hop, afrobeat, pop, indie rock, electro-rock, punk, stoner rock, soul, jazz(bebop and swing specifically), ethiopian soul, classical, glitch, idm, etc. i'm open. but i'm not really a fan of techno, house, jazz-rock-fusion wanking, hair metal, french pop, disco, drum'n'bass, or blues(because mostly it's done very badly). i like music that's still alive. flipped, turned on it's head, re-invented. living. i can talk about this all day.:) I'm looking for like minded "loop jockeys" to share ideas with and learn with.

anyways, nice to meet you.

was i too forward? did i talk too much? maybe.

Hi, James. I agree with most of your views. Glad you found Mobius. Glad I did too ;-)
