i could have sworn this function was working before..... but im not sure what i could be doing wrong here-

is there anyone out there who uses this function that can verify im a dumbass?

when loopCopy is set to timing and i switch loops, it does not properly copy the timing-
when timeCopyMode = play, the new loop is 1 bar long regardless how long the original loop was-
when timeCopyMode = overdub, same thing but in overdub mode
when timeCopyMode = multiply, same thing but starts multiplying

loopCopy sound works flawlessly.....so im at a loss here-
also, if anyone knows any other ways to create an empty loop that is (n) bars long...that would be awesome as well

It is working fine here. I have been relying on it for years. I use exactly the settings you describe and the correct functionality really is that a new loop of one cycle's length is being created as you go NextLoop where there isn't already any recording looping.

If you have a loop that is like three cycles long and want the new one to pick up on that length you need to copy the old loop with you by pressing first NextLoop and then Multiply before the switch occurs. This change is not noticed by the audience, since you will find yourself in the next loop but with the same looping audio as you came from at the previous loop. So now you can replace audio with something new and your done! My favorite way of replacing audio is to put Secondary Feedback down to zero and step on the Substitute button while playing the new audio. One can also use Overdub.

But to me it seems as the setting Loop Copy = Timing, Sound Copy Mode = Multiply" would work fine for you. You step on the NextLoop pedal and arrive to the silent next loop in Multiply Mode, so you just have to keep on playing/singing until the preferred length is reached and then you kick multiply to set the loop point there.

Over here I also use "Track Copy = Timing" and here a new loop of the multiplied length is created on the Next Track if empty.

thank you once again per!

one more time just to clarify, are you saying loopCopy = timing does not actually copy the timing of the loop but lets you choose to go into multiply mode so you can set an end point and make it as long as you want?

loopCopy = sound will clearly copy the entire loop if soundCopyMode= play or overdub, so this is why i really expecte loopCopy=timing to do the same thing except without the sound

my expectation of a loopcopy timing would be as follows:
if loop1 is 24 bars long with a tamborine solo and i set loopCopy=timing and timeCopyMode = play, i would expect to get an empty 24 bar loop when i switch to loop2-
this way i would not have to use multiply and wait 24 bars while the loop is created....as my goal is to simply get an empty loop that i will be able to use later on in the song and has no relation to whats on loop1 other than its unique # of bars in length-

i may have misunderstood ya though! i do that alot ;oD

thank you for always being there to help
