hi all, an easy tip,but though i'd share it.Im using a korg nanokontroll, but this could be applied to any midi control surface
if you like to have dedicate SELECT and PAN option for each track, but dont want to waste or dont have enough pots and buttons for it, you can for example assign both tasks to the rotary knobs, firstly assigned as individual pan for each track,so when you make a slight movement on em,youre changing panning yes,but if you just move them as little as possible this panning would not be easy noticeable at the output sound, and you'll be selecting that track at the same time
this works ok in nanokontroll, using the upper rotary knobs ,with better response to movement than the sliders, also pan function its less critical than level in case of moving the control more than necesary for getting the SELECT TRACK function to work .
thanks for reading!
