View Full Version : Wobbly master track sync at 48kHz

When using the AU plugin version I have found that the timing of the Master Track gets wobbly if the host digital audio is set to 48kHz. What happens is that the first loop recorded goes revers for a short while just after each new round. This makes it go out of sync with loops on slaving tracks.
A real bummer here. Mobius is my favorite tool, not to say instrument, and now I can't use it for film music (that required 48 kHz). Diving down into Workaround Swamplands now... :-)

Well, I'm not surprised, Sim. I take it as another great success of mine in forgetting about the bad sides in life :-))
Since I don't know the technical details (coding etc) for what Mobius is missing in the non 44.1 departments I report the symptoms here in case it might help Jeff to re-write whatever part is bad with the current version.
There's really nothing that can substitute Mobius, so in the 48 k film music domain one way to deal with Mobius absence is to make a different kind of music than is possible with Mobius. Some workarounds for me is to use StutterEdit and also to re-create some sick Mobius scripting by doing traditional audio editing... not so fun as playing it hands-on with Mobius and it drags too close to composing IMHO as you lose out on spontaneous musical quirks.
Yeah this has been on the list for a long time. It has been requested more often over the last year or so, maybe now is a good time to raise the priority.
I'm surprised by your reported problem, all the problems I know of are related
to slave sync or midi sync. For simple track sync I would expect it to work
but this isn't something I have tested so anything could happen.
