Default Sidechain doesnot work with Mobius in MS2.1 64bit

Hi,

I have Mobius setup as a "AU MIDI controlled effect" with Sidechain activated for recieving audio stream. Work very well in MS2.1 32bit but in MS2.1 64 bit Mobius doesnot recieve anymore the audio stream and the record button is dead (impossible to activate the Record function).
Again, this setup work in MS 2.1 32bit but not in MS 64bit. Anybody work with Mobius in MS2.1 64bit with succes ?

Michel

Noop. Only done that for testing purposes. If your computer is not making use of a lot more than 4 GB RAM you have nothing to win by 64bit mode anyway. And what such RAM demanding plug-ins would we need for live looping? Hm... well, I can imagine playing a sampler instrument with shitloads of huge samples pre loaded, typically faking a symphony orchestra section using the Vienna String Ensamble patches or similar... or multi sampled concert grand piano with a dozen velocity zones per note all over the entire range. That would actually benefit from 64it mode - given you pop in twelve to eighteen GB RAM or so :-)

Yes, agree. I thought that Omnisphere 64bit would give a better performence but problem with omnisphere is not really RAM but more the CPU. And actually, the only way to get better performence with Omnisphere is by loading it in Vienna Ensemble Pro (inside MS) because then it will be process on its own core, meaning not the same core that use MS (and because MS still use for all lives input's stream only one processor of a multicore).
So, anyway, back to MS 32 bit until this Mobius bug will be fixed...

I have no idea what the problem is, and have no way to test it since
I don't have a 64 bit Mac or a license for Logic Pro. I used to think that
the Steinberg hosts were bitchy but the Apple hosts sure give them
some competition. Every release of the OS and every release of
Mainstage breaks something.

Let me take the opportunity to express my undying love for Bidule.
It just *always* works.

If you want to pursue this, we can capture some Mobius log messages
around the time that Mainstage is attempting to open it, that may tell us
something.

Sorry for the delay...
I did found out something new about that bug and it is that if insert another AU-MIDI Controled Efffect by the side of Mobius, and also set its Sidechain to the same sidechain bus that Mobius use, then Mobius will recieve, as it should, the streaming audio through its own sidechain bus. But more weird is that if I then bypass this AU-MIDI Controled Efffect during playback, then Mobius immediatly start to output a non-stopping beep noise !
Actually, I am not totaly sure if it is a Logic or Mobius bug but can you tell me how to :
HTML Code:
capture some Mobius log messages around the time that Mainstage is attempting to open it
so that I can send you these log message.

Thanks

Michel
