Hi everyone, sorry for not being very active on the list/forum lately.
I have been working for most of this year on a project to help make Mobius easier to use for new users that don't have an EDP background. The biggest part of this was a complete rewrite of the ancient user's manual with the ultimate goal of making it completely independent of the EDP manual, and hopefully much easier to read. While I was writing this I made *many* small changes to functions and parameters to fix some inconsistencies and remove some confusing EDP'isms that I don't really like or that we don't need. For example "Interface Mode" is gone and replaced with a more flexible and obvious checkbox parameter "Enable Secondary Feedback". Also "Insert Mode" is gone because if you need this kind of button redefinition you can do it with scripts. The release with all of these changes will be 1.43 and is in the final stages of testing. The new manuals are not yet complete but I wanted to make them available early because they contain a lot of useful information for new users and most of it is applicable to the current 1.42 release. I encourage both new and old users to at least skim them, just be aware that the screenshots may not always match what you see in 1.42 and some of the function and parameter names will be different. If you find any errors or have suggestions for improvement, please let me know. I broke this up into several manuals to make them easier to digest. Let me know what you think! just a quick note - when i click on the "techniques" link, i get "404 not found" - i think it's just a typo, this works - http://www.circularlabs.com/newdoc/techniques.htm sim |

This is the best early Christmas gift I’ve ever had. Thank you Jeff

I just noticed there was a new manual. That's awesome! I can imagine the amount of work you put into this. Probably the most boring part for a developer also.
Thank you! |
